It’s October! And October, at least in my mind, is a whole 30 days to get everyone excited for Halloween.
HALLOWEEEEEN!
I’m pretty sure I get more excited than most kids do about holidays, and Halloween is no exception. Between the dressing up and the thrill of getting spooked, I can’t get enough. Fortunately for me and all of the other Halloween enthusiasts of Southern California, there is a TON of fun to be had.
Knott’s Scary Farm
I have to say, this is one of my absolute favorite Halloween events, because a good scare every now and then is a lot of fun. And what exactly is Knott’s Halloween Haunt? Knott’s Berry Farm (known for its roller coasters, rides, shows, and of course, berries) is taken over at night and transformed into a nightmare world of monsters and mayhem popping out of every corner.
And I do mean every corner. Seriously, if you think you’re safe, BAM, a mutant clown is ALL up in your face!
And by the way, don’t ask the clowns for directions.
On top of the scary surroundings are the mazes, and HO. LY CRAP. Prepare to get the bejeezus scared out of you. I made it through all 12, and each one was full of thrills (and of course, fun). My absolute favorites if you’re not going to make all 12 (which is no easy task, I’ll admit) are Delirium, Uncle Bobo’s Big Top Bazaar, Virus Z, and my ABSOLUTE #1 is Pinocchio Unstrung (which actually replaced my former favorite, the Dollhouse).
Tickets are available online and start at $36. Also note: this is not for the wee ones, so I very strongly recommend finding a sitter for the night.
Camp Spooky
Don’t think that Knott’s didn’t think of something for the kids, too! Camp Snoopy is transformed into a Halloween haven for a scare-free, daytime celebration with fun and events just for the little ones (recommended ages 3-11). The fun includes costume parades & trick or treating, the Peanuts Gang in a Halloween “Spooktacular” show, “The Great Pumpkin Hay Bale Maze” (which I’m VERY much looking forward to!), and the “Spooky Ookie Scavenger Hunt.” I’m excited to bring Cameron, so watch Twitter and Instagram this Sunday for the #campspooky hashtag!

Disclosure: I was invited by Knott’s Berry Farm to attend the Knott’s Halloween Haunt Social Media Haunt Night, as well as the VIP Camp Spooky Costume Party. All thoughts, opinions, and experiences are mine, and were not compensated nor required – I’m just writing about them because they’re that awesome.
What is Cameron going to be for Halloween? <3
